Testimonials
Robin Blocker, parent of a teenager, writes:
“I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed listening to the Teens Talk Truth CDs. They have been eye-opening and are a great resource into the mind of today’s teenagers. I have and am sharing these with others. You have done an unbelievable job with them. I think the information is very relevant and timely.”
K. Taff, parent of two teens, commenting on the Anger CD: “This CD should be required listening for every parent! I found it to be very helpful in really understanding the issue of anger in teens. Evan Katz not only outlines the root causes of our teens’ outward behavior (the kind of behavior that can puzzle as well as exasperate us parents!), but he lets us know common mistakes we parents make in addressing angry behavior. The bottom line seems to be the importance of maintaining a healthy connection with our kids just at the moments that feel the most challenging.”
Nick B, writes about the Internet Safety Today seminar and CD:
“I have always prided myself on being internet/computer savvy…that was until I attended a Teens Talks Truth session on “Internet Safety”. Afterwards, I realized I was not only naïve, but adding to my child’s access to unacceptable sites and opening up my family to possible harm and financial ruin. Thank you for explaining (in layman’s terms) the numerous serious situations associated with the internet and then offering suggestions on how to protect my family. I have recommended this session and CD highly to all parents and even college students using the internet.”
Carol S., commenting on the Alcohol and Drugs, Volume I CD:
“I was chilled to the bone to hear the girls talk. What they had to say was so open, honest, forthright, and stunning. I have to admit that I was shaken. To hear the girls say what did, and what didn't, make a difference to them as far as what parents say and do to try to deter their kids from drug and alcohol use had such an impact. Seems like a lot of "expert" ideas are useless. Parents need to hear this from kids, not necessarily from the expert adults. That having been said, I still think that Tara Arnold's segment was full of great information. She seems to know kids well, and knows how they do work the system. I truly think this should be required listening for all parents. It is so valuable.” L.B., commenting on the Sex and Sexuality CD:
“I thought I had an idea of what was going on with middle school students and sex but after hearing the Sex and Sexuality CD, I realized I knew almost nothing. I liked hearing the info straight from the teens themselves. I have a 13 year old son and now have some good information to use in my discussions with him.”
Cheryl E., commenting on the Eating Disorders CD: “I've fought being overweight all my life and I thought I knew everything there is to know about eating disorders. But now that I've listened to Teens Talk Truth, I know even more. I now see where my own two teenagers -- a boy and a girl -- are vulnerable, and I'm much more attuned to the cues. I'm especially grateful for the insight provided by the psychologist on the tape, who is balanced and extraordinarily knowledgeable.”
